Gravel slabs, split slabs and grass tiles for ground reinforcement

Gravel slabs (also known as gravel mats, gravel tiles, or split slabs) and grass tiles are plastic sheets with a honeycomb structure for gravel stabilization and soil protection. The slabs prevent subsidence and rutting under vehicle loads. DM Covering supplies Ecoraster systems made from 100% recycled HDPE: E40, E50, E80 Heavy, TP40, and Bloxx. Applications: parking lots, company driveways, paddocks, riding arenas, and event spaces. All systems have a water permeability of 90%+ and comply with rainwater regulations.

Gravel slabs and split slabs for terrain hardening

Application:parking lots, company driveways, access roads, loading and unloading zones.

Ecoraster gravel plates stabilize gravel and crushed stone and prevent rutting caused by vehicles. Without ground reinforcement, gravel paving subsides within months. E40 is the versatile all-rounder with a height of 4 cm, suitable for parking lots and company driveways. With a proper foundation, E40 can support passenger cars and vans. E50 (5 cm) and E80 Heavy (8 cm) are suitable for heavier loads. For occasional heavy traffic, we recommend a reinforced foundation.

Foundation:20-30cm of gravel, depending on the load. Installation yield: 15-20m² per man-hour.

Paddock plates and grass tiles for equestrian sports

Application:paddocks, exercise areas, open stables, riding schools.

Ecoraster TP40 is specially designed for paddocks and open stables. The larger cell surface offers better grip for horses and cattle and minimizes wear and tear during intensive animal use. TP40 prevents mud buildup and provides a stable surface.

Important:E40 is not suitable for paddocks due to the small cell surface area and insufficient grip for animals.

Grass tiles for green parking spaces

Application:green parking lots, industrial estates with greening requirements, event sites.

Ecoraster grass tiles are filled with soil and grass seed. The grass grows through the honeycomb structure and remains protected from vehicle loads. Water permeability of 90%+: meets municipal infiltration requirements and rainwater regulations. Suitable for BREEAM projects.

Ecoraster Bloxx for Concrete Slabs

Application:entrance areas to commercial buildings, terraces, public spaces.

Bloxx retaining frames for rubber or granite concrete slabs. Integrated drainage channel for consistent water drainage. Available in 2x2 and 1x2 sizes for curbs and transition zones. Bloxx with concrete slabs supports heavier loads depending on the slab thickness.

Frequently Asked Questions - Gravel Slabs and Grass Tiles

How much do gravel slabs cost per m²?

Ecoraster gravel slabs and grass tiles cost €1.50 to €6.50 each, depending on the type and height. The tiles are 33x33cm.

For large projects, we offer graduated pricing. Complete installation including foundation and fill: €25-€75 per m², depending on the substrate and load requirements. Request a project quote for an exact price calculation.

Which vehicles can drive over gravel plates?

E40 supports passenger cars and vans with a proper foundation of 20-30cm of gravel. TP40 is reinforced for horses and intensive stable use. For occasional heavy traffic, we recommend a reinforced foundation.

Bloxx with concrete slabs supports heavier loads depending on the slab thickness. Contact us for advice about your specific load situation.

What is the difference between gravel slabs and gravel mats?

Gravel slabs and gravel mats are often used interchangeably. The technical difference is that a gravel mat has a geotextile on the underside, while a gravel slab does not. Ecoraster supplies ground reinforcement slabs without geotextile. Geotextile can be combined optionally.

Which paddock panels are suitable for horses?

Ecoraster TP40. Specially developed for paddocks and open stables with a larger cell surface area for better hooves. Minimal wear and tear during intensive animal use.

E40 is not suitable for paddocks: smaller cells, insufficient grip. Always choose TP40 for stable projects.

Do gravel slabs comply with rainwater regulations?

Yes. All Ecoraster systems have a water permeability of 90%+ due to their open cell structure. This meets municipal and provincial requirements for infiltration on private property.

Suitable for BREEAM certification. Technical documentation available for permit applications.
